Here we are at the end of a very long day. The first of the days have really flown as I have been in the middle of a training project at work. Work has definitely been crazy! The last month or so has been difficult all the way around. Steve and I both had to be gone and were extremely busy! It was a stress on the relationship...but something that ultimately was resolved.
Over the weekend we went to a Jazz club in Kansas City called The Blue Room. It was wonderful...and extremely relaxing. Before that we had dinner at Genghis Kahn. I realized I didn't eat nearly as much as a person really should at that place. I guess I really can't complain about that...but I would've like to get my money's worth.
Saturday we went to the Royals vs. Reds game and purchased tickets for this Saturday's Royals vs. Cardinals game. Of course, all that was available was standing room only tickets. We figure if we get their when the gates open, we'll get a seat at one of the tables in the Rivals club. At least then we'll have a place to rest our rears.
I came home this afternoon and relaxed in the pool and found my way back to my favorite chair for a blogging session. The movie "Before Sunrise" is playing. Lovely movie. But it makes me think...if this blog were a movie, what songs would be on the soundtrack? I'll leave this to you! My new project for myself is to compile songs for my life. As a reader, I think you should put your two cents in. Go ahead...give me some ideas. I'll start us off...
"Lesson Learned" Alicia Keys
He broke a heart
And now it's raining
Just to rub it in
I'm at your door
I feel so crazy about it
You'll say I told you so
You saw it long ago
You knew he had to go
I finally came 'round
I'm back on solid ground
Can't let it get me down
It's alright
It's alright
It's alright
Yes I was burned but I called it a lesson learned
Mistake overturned
So I call it a lesson learned
My soul has returned
So I call it a lesson learned
Another lesson learned
Sometimes
Some lies
Can take a minute
To fully realize
His tears
Your eyes
Thirty seconds to apologize
You give it one more chance
Just like the time before
But he already know you'd give a hundred more
Until that night in bed
You wake up in a sweat
You're racing to the door
Can't take it anymore
I was burned but I called it a lesson learned
Mistake overturned
So I call it a lesson learned
My soul has returned
So I call it a lesson learned
Another lesson learned
Life perfect
Ain't perfect
If you don't know what the struggle's for
Falling down ain't falling down
If you don't cry when you hit the floor
It's called the past cause I'm getting past
And I ain't nothing like I was before
You ought to see me now
Yes I was burned but I called it a lesson learned
Mistake overturned
So I call it a lesson learned
My soul has returned
So I call it a lesson learned
Another lesson learned
