2009 is here and I'm forced to think about the things I've accomplished and the things I have yet to accomplish. I spent New Years Eve in Kansas City with friends. After a game of Outburst (which the ladies won) and a delightful dinner at Bonefish Grill, we rang in the new year at the Lightfoot's to the voice of Dick Clark. The night was absolutely wonderful and I basked in the blessings God has given me this year. After an eventful weekend, I started plotting my plans for 2009. First of all, like most every person, I want to get in shape this year. That's going to mean being dedicated to eating healthy and exercising. Secondly, I want to travel a bit more. I really don't care where...but it could be anything from Chicago to Paris, France. Lastly, I plan on giving more. Everything I can do as far as giving in my time and finances, I want to. I pray that God blesses me with more of both!
2008 was actually more blessed than past years. To start out, I dated a wonderful man who became a great friend. CJ was quite a blessing to me this year! That...and it was probably the longest running, healthy relationship that I've had. I honestly wouldn't change a thing and enjoyed taking him with me to youth camp this year. To add to my social blessings, I made a new best friend and lots of new friends. I also got a lot of opportunities to minister. After preaching in Beatrice, leading worship at the Nebraska camp meeting, and beginning a very healthy youth group in my home church, I realized that my personal life was also very blessed. Then, to be the perfect ending to a great year...I put out my first book. That was probably the most exciting moment of my life.
So after all those blessings, it's so easy to see how much more blessed 2009 will be for me. I'm confident that more of my dreams will come true and God will continue to open doors for me. So though another day might just be another dollar...another year is another three hundred and sixty five dollars...and that is enough for a plane ticket!
