One Bad Week...

So this week hasn't been the easiest. In fact, it started off pretty incredibly bad. Well, compared to my normal weeks, I'm sure it probably could've been worse. On Saturday, while making my way to Kansas City, to meet my friend Lynn and her new guy, I encountered a flat tire on the interstate. Luckily, it was before I'd actually gotten out of St. Joseph. I called my dad and he quickly came to my aid in switching out my tire for the spare and then I borrowed my mom and stepdad's car to make it to Kansas City. I took it in stride and was actually not very upset at all. In fact, I was planning on getting new tires this week anyway and that just hurried the process. So SundayI had my car back with a spare and decided I'd get the tire on Thursday since it's payday. When I walked out of my apartment to go to church Sunday night, my spare was flat. I once again took this in stride and decided I'd air it up and hope that in the next few hours, it didn't go flat again. The next morning, all the air was in the spare and I was happy. I could get all tires replaced together (other than the one I had replaced a couple of months ago). All was well! However, last night on my way home from church and the night before my tire replacement, my other tire decided it should go flat. This time, about two blocks away from home. This time, I wasn't so collected. In fact, I was bitter that my car couldn't wait just another night before all the tires were brand new. This morning, I had the tow service come and tow my care off to Walmart. I was expecting somewhere around $300 for the tires since the last tire I got there was just a little over $100. Upon showing the sales associate my pancake tires, he pointed out that the new one was the wrong size. To which I countered that with telling him they were the ones that gave me the tire. He offered to replace it for free with the correct tire. As they were ordering the tires, I was told the tires were actually $75 a piece for the best one which would bring my total to $225. Which, in fact, was a great amount less than I had planned for. This made me happy. In fact, I was disappointed in myself that I was even bitter at the car...it turned out better than expected. Not only that, but my insurance company will pay me back for the price of the tow. I'm out anything, in fact!

It brought me back to one of my favorite verses:

Psa 42:5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And [why] are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him [For] the help of His countenance.

Next time, I'll take it in stride...knowing that God knows best...no matter what!
